Epoch Press is delighted to announce that we are opening our Blog for guest writers. If you’d like to be considered for publication on our blog, please read below regarding our submission guidelines for completed posts and potential pitches. Accepted submissions are currently unpaid, but we are working toward paying our contributors in the future.
If you’re interested in contributing to our blog, we are looking for completed essays and articles that discuss the craft of Creative Nonfiction. This can be anything from musings on what delineates fiction and nonfiction, in-depth analyses on the ethics of nonfiction, or straightforward ‘How-To’ articles. While we do not have a word limit or requirement at the moment, we are keen to see your longer and more in-depth pieces. We appreciate academic articles as well as thoughtful, but more casual, approaches.
At this time, we are only considering pieces centring around the craft of Creative Nonfiction. Any other topic submissions will be sent a rote reply.
If you would like us to consider your blog post, please email us at email@example.com with the subject line: ‘Blog Post – [POST TITLE]’. Attach your submission as a PDF or word document and include a 30-word bio with any relevant social media links and, if you’re comfortable, a photo for your by-line in the body of the email. Our blog manager and staff will review your piece and get back to you within two weeks.
If your blog submission is accepted, we will send any suggested edits back to you for confirmation before publishing. Following acceptance, our blog manager and photographer will assign an image to the piece. If you have a specific image you would like to be considered alongside publication, please include it in a separate attachment in your submission email. Note: We are as particular about our visual presence as we are about our written one, so we reserve the right to decline the image.
If you have an idea for a yet-to-be-written blog post but are unsure if it would suit our blog, get in touch via the form below—we would love to hear from you!
In the body of the form please include a short pitch of the blog post you would like to write, including details of how it relates to CNF and why you would like to write it.
Our blog manager will review your pitch and get back to you within two weeks. Once a pitch has been confirmed as accepted, you will receive a date for publication (typically a month out). We require a finished draft to be sent to us 7 days prior to the slotted publication date.
Unfortunately, we are unable to work with any piece that requires a significant time commitment from our editors in order to publish. If you have any questions, feel free to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
