Milan Ciric’s art can be found in EPOCH Issue 03: Roots, available to purchase here.

Why do you make creative nonfiction art?

I create non-fiction art cause I prefer exploring metaphysical laws rather than focusing on fictional ideas.

Did you have a piece in mind when you learned Epoch’s theme, or did you create something new? If so, how did you approach the theme of Roots in the creation of your work?

I already had that painting painted. I realized that roots can be connected to the concept of repetition.

What is the biggest challenge when creating non-fiction art?

The biggest challenge in creating non-fiction art is the process of finding the right angle to look at certain concepts. Once I find it, the rest is expression and execution.

What’s your favourite piece of art in your home?

Good question. I think the best piece of art I own is a little concrete statue of a boy for the garden. I have bought it at a second-hand market a few years and it is standing on the terrace.
